Buddhist Canon
In order to establish Buddhism firmly in China, scriptures were translated from Sanskrit into Chinese.
Countless people were involved in this task. National Master Kumarajiva (5th century) headed a team of over 800 in a decade-long translation project of the Tripitaka (Buddhist Canon). Because of this work, nearly the entire Buddhist Canon of over a thousand texts exists today in Chinese.
Now as Buddhism is being planted in Western soil, the same translation work is being done form Chinese into English. The Buddhist Text Translation Society (BTTS) founded by Tripitaka Master Hsuan Hua in 1970, is working toward this goal with committees headed by Bhikshus (monks) and Bhikshunis (nuns) devoted to translation, revision, editing and certification of the entire Tripitaka.
Tripitaka Master Hsuan Hua (1918 – 1995)
At first glance, he looked and sounded like any other Chinese immigrant in San Francisco in the 1960s. His humble manner belied his position as the 45th Buddhist patriarch in direct lineage from Shakyamuni Buddha.
Master Hua was born in 1918 near Manchuria, China into a family of frugal farmers. He learned to read at 15, and after his mother’s death at 19, he became a monk. He meditated by his mother’s grave for three years and practiced other austerities before receiving full ordination.
At Nan Hua Monastery in Canton, Master Hua received the mind-to-mind transmission of the Patriarchs Master Hsu Yun, making him a Patriarch in direct lineage with Bodhidharma, the last patriarch of India, and Hui Neng, the first patriarch of Zen. With the arrival of the communists on the Chinese mainland, the Master went to Hong Kong to promote orthodox Buddhism. In 1962, he brought monastic, Mahayana Buddhism to America. He founded the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the International Translation Institute, and over 20 other monasteries and temples all over the globe, with the goal of spreading Buddhism worldwide.

The practitioner develops purity and stillness of being, which brings the body under the complete influence of the mind. When the mind is in complete stillness, the body will not change as the environment changes.
Practice the Outer Qi Generating and Releasing dharma for self-healing and to cultivate the ability to heal others. Learn to adapt to extreme weather with the body warming and cooling meditation techniques.

Diamond Wisdom
The second state of Zen meditation. Learn to firm the seed through the state of motion and stillness, being and non-being, called. Contains the Interflow of the Four Links, the Simultaneous Rotation of the Five Wheels, the Illumination of the Nine Suns, and the Observation of One Unified Body.

Prajna Akasagarbha
The Prajna Akasagarbha is an esoteric Buddhist healing dharma practice which literally means, wisdom hidden in the womb of space. This ancient dharma practice of Akasagarbha Bodhisattva, which was hidden in China for centuries, is considered a key to enlightenment, valued for its ability to increase physical vitality and energy, and bring forth rapid spiritual progress.
In essence, it is a sequence of movements (mudras) combined with visualizations and a mantra that help to align the individual to the universe and awaken the sleeping seeds of Alaya consciousness in the body.
The 16 basic mudras, when practiced diligently, will help the practitioner experience the gravitational pulls of the heavenly bodies, grasp the rhythm of nature, and attain health, prosperity, and wisdom. It flows like water and moves slowly with great depth. It is fun to do and suitable for all ages and abilities. Wear comfortable clothing.
Medicine Buddha Dharma
The sanskrit name of the Medicine Buddha is Bhaisajyaraja. The Chinese call him Yao Shi Fo, the Tibetans Sangye Menla, and the Japanese Yakushi. He is a great Master who made many vows to alleviate the suffering of all beings. The Medicine Master Lapis Lazuli Light King Buddha Extinguishing Disaster and Prolonging Life Dharma is for healing, protection, and prevention of illness and disease, as well as for extinguishing disaster, extending life, and bringing forth good luck. Includes separate purifying techniques for food, water and air.
Buddhist Healing Techniques
This workshop contains various meditations, applications, and techniques used by Buddhist healers to handle situations ranging from a simple headache to tumors and cancer.
Black Furious Manjusri Bodhisattva Bodyguardian Dharma
This teaching was brought from India to China in 749 AD, and was traditionally taught only to initiated disciples. This dharma is used for spiritual protection from negative forces, and to extinguish accidents, disasters, and bad fortune.

We practice in harmony with the elements and our bodily sensations, to cultivate non-conceptual Being (mindfulness), to realize the truth of our own nature. Just as the waters are ever-changing, as the trees and plants dance with the air element of wind, or as the sun appears and disappears through the clouds and coastal fog, we cultivate our awareness of impermanence, which is reflected in our constantly changing thoughts and feelings, and the arising and dissolving away of all forms. We practice surrender to the moment as it is unfolding, without clinging to any particular object, thought, or sensation--allowing all to arise and pass away within the field of our non-judging awareness.
Dharma Creek Sangha currently offers one weekend womens sunset/moonrise kayak retreat each month, plus a week-long womens dharma camp in June. The Sangha is located on 200+ acres of beautiful land which is available for guided or solo private retreats, and for small-group use by other spiritual groups upon request.
