Notes and Events:
Master Xu Yun asked Charles Luk to translate vital Chinese Buddhist texts into English, to help Buddhists in the West. Charles Luk asked Richard to try and keep these translations in the public eye - which he did up until his death. He founded the website to facilitate this idea. On the site are numerous translated texts, designed to help the student wherever they are.
Creating a meditation space, wherever you are is the key practice. This is essential for development. This practice may be augmented by irregular Chan meditation weeks of intense introspection. Such weeks are dependent on the use of suitable facilities, etc. Which are not always available.
The hua tou method is used, whereby one meditates on a question such as Who s hearing? This will eventually lead to a startling discovery!
Peace in the Dharma.
