Fo Guang Buddhist Temple of Boston (FGBTB) is the first temple that Fo Guang Shan Temple established in Massachusetts.
In 1997, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of FGBT Boston gave a public talk in Billerica with more than 300 people attended and from there they established the Buddha’s Light International Association Boston sub-chapter.
In 1998 Fo Guang Shan Temple purchased a restaurant located on Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, in between Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to propagate Dharma in Boston. This place was name as the Fo Guang Shan Triple Buddha’s Center (also known as Greater Boston Buddhist Cultural Center (International Buddhist Progress Society)) which in Chinese means the “Harvard, Fo Guang Shan and Buddha’s Light Center” and the opening ceremony was held on January 3, 1999.
The center was operated as a teahouse and a bookstore; however, the center also includes all kind of interest classes including reading group, English meditation class, Children meditation class, and Dharma with Dinner session etc. The center services all range of local communities, especially the professors and students from Harvard University and MIT.
The center also had many interactions with the local Buddhist communities and religious groups. Due to the growth of the members and also the limitation of the venue, in 2014 Fo Guang Buddhist Temple of Boston has shifted to 711 Concord Ave, Cambridge, MA 01238 to provide a bigger space for propagating Buddhism.

The Center shares Buddhist philosophy as practiced in the Tibetan tradition: All are welcome. Classes and events as announced. The Center is placed with Christs Church Longwood. Supporters provide venues and translations. Our resident teacher has never been paid. All work is volunteer, there is no paid staff. Donations are appreciated.
Lobsang Dorgay, Spiritual Director, began his studies at Gaden Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet. He has kindly taught and profoundly directed us in the LamRim with inspiration and devotion since 1998. Additionally, we are often honored by the eloquent translations of Pema Tsewang Shastri and by local and international guest teachers. 2008 is our 10th Anniversary Year.
During 2008 - 2009 the Center presents ceremonies and teachings on alternate months, please call or write to join the mailing list, we are building a new website.
The LamRim Buddhist Center, Inc. is a religious and educational organization, a non profit incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1999. The Center has continuously provided classes, ceremonies and special events directed for Buddhist and Tibetan cultural appreciation and preservation.

Siddhartha Circle is for meditators and Dharma practitioners interested in gathering weekly as a sangha for meditation practice, study, and discussion of video teachings by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche and others. All are welcome. Those living at some distance from their root teacher may be especially interested, as will those seeking community for in-depth exploration and support on the Buddhist path.
Wednesday evening meetings in Sherborn, Massachusetts, begin with meditation practice. Video teachings are followed by discussion, questions, and sharing, as members endeavor to help each other live the teachings into their lives between meetings. Meetings close with a shorter meditation to dedicate the merit of our practice.
Our facilitator is a meditation instructor and mindfulness teacher who has been a student of Buddhism for over 35 years and whose teachers include Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, Pema Chodron, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche,Lama Willa Miller, and others.
