The Bodhi Garden is a non-denominational Buddhist charity based in Brighton. It is dedicated to offering Buddhist teachings and opportunities for meditation practice. It was formed in 2001. It currently offers one-day and two-day meditation retreats led by experienced Buddhist teachers with whom we have established connections. These retreats take place at a variety of locations in the Brighton, Hove and Sussex area. These retreats are offered on a ‘dana’ (‘generosity’, ‘mutual support’) basis.

We are a new Buddhist umbrella organisation which has 3 regular meditation groups within it, the Open Meditation sessions on Tuesdays 8-930, Forest Sangha group Wed 730-930 and LGBT group Thursdays 530-7.

 We are also planning weekend and day retreats starting on June 18th with Ajahn Amaro of Amaravati monastery.

 We are also hosting evenings of Dharma Inspirations - opportunities for more creative approaches to practice - and Buddhist Devotional singing.

The Brighton Zen group meets twice weekly at the Bodhi Garden Dharma Centre in central Brighton to practise zazen. All are welcome to attend. Please attend one of our introductions first if you are new to our practice. Please wear loose, dark clothes.
