The Canberra Zen Group is a zen practice group affiliated with the Sydney Zen Centre. The group meets weekly for zen meditation and every two months or so for zazenkai (longer zen meditation meetings) on the weekend. Paul Maloney Roshi from the Sydney Zen Centre usually teaches and provides interviews at the zazenkai.

Canberra Bhāvanā Society's main focus is meditation and a study of the Suttas (teachings of the Buddha and His disciples).

Courses run throughout the year and are open to everyone regardless of background or experience. For each course, one or several Suttas are chosen. The forum for the courses starts with meditation followed by a reading of a Sutta during which time discussion, questioning and critical reflection are encouraged.

All views are respected and everyone is welcome!

Jikishoan Zen Buddhist Community Canberra is a Bun-in ( sub-temple) of Jikishoan Zen Buddhist Community, Melbourne

Jikishoan Canberra meets every Sunday evening, between 5.15 and 7.30pm for public meditation practice which includes zazen (sitting meditation), kinhin(walking meditation) and bowing practice. Newcomers are always welcome.

The venue for Sunday Sanzenkai (meditation) is the Function Hall, Corroboree Park Community Centre, Paterson Street, Ainslie. ACT.

Jikishoan Canberra also conducts an ongoing series of One Day Meditation Workshops throughout the year. Details of these are posted at the Canberra Group pages of www.jikishoan.org.au

There is no resident teacher. We are all dedicated students of Sogyal Rinpoche who volunteer to provide a place and opportunity to study Buddhism.

Rigpa Canberra is located at Level 1A, 27 Mulley Street, Holder, off either Streeton or Dixon Drives.

Note: the door to the Community Centre closes at 5.30 pm and so for attendance at evening meditation or courses or other events after hours, it is important to arrive on time so someone can be there to let you in. A mobile phone number will be provided for latecomers enrolled in particular courses.
