Shraddha TV is a non-profit Buddhist television channel based in Sri Lanka. The channel is known for airing religious spiritual content with primary focus on Buddhism and the teaching of Buddha. Most of the programming is shot at the main Buddhist monastery in Polgahawela.
Shraddha TV was officially launched on 29 September 2012 on the cable television service, PEO TV.[1][2][3][4] It was subsequently included on the home satellite television service, Dialog TV.[5] The founder of television channel is Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero, who is also the founder of Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery.[6] The chairperson of Shraddha TV is Roshini Rajapaksa.[2]
The channel is owned by the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery and is broadcast from Kaduwela, a suburb of Colombo. Shraddha stands for the Devotion. It uses contents from real life and advertises itself as being suitable for people of all ages and religious persuasions. It broadcasts Dhamma Sermons, Dhamma Discussions, Meditation Guides, documentaries, and Charity Services 24 hours a day via Dialog TV Channel No 27 and SLT Peo TV Channel No 99.[2] Its main tagline is "The Noble friend of Television Media". Shraddha TV started terrestrial broadcasting for the Western province via UHF 55 on 2015-12-31.
The channel frequently discusses the "Fundamentals of Buddhist Teachings", such as the Four Noble Truths, Noble Eightfold Path, Pratītyasamutpāda, Skandha - Five Aggregates of Clinging etc.

We are a Buddhist organization involved in various social and religious activities in the Country. We have been in active work since 2001.

The elder community that becoming members of our project will be constantly blend with the natural environment and will have the opportunity to get involved , if desired with our “FOOD FOR ALL GARDENING PROJECT “ within the compound. We believe that sufficient food for the inmates and staff could be cultivated with common participation opening the door to healthy organics fruits and vegetables. The elder community that becoming members of our project will be provided with adequate time and assistance to enhance there religious practice with regulars sermons form priest and spiritual leaders. The elder community that becoming members of our project will be provide adequate entertainment and special talk show type discussion with the participation of prominent society figures will be arranged time to time to over come the routine life styles. The elder community that becoming members of our project will be provided with the best medical and nursing facility with Aurvedia and Western medical staff.. The elder community that becoming members of our project will be provided with the opportunity in every three months with the families and friends with prior arrangements..

Nirodha City Centre, a Dhamma and Meditation teaching facility was inaugurated at a ceremony on Saturday, 20th February presided over by Ven Kirama Wimalajothi Nayaka Thero and Ven Olande Ananda Thero. The City Centre now located at No 44, Edirisinghe Road, Mirihana Nugegoda, is one of the key projects of the Nirodha Trust whose aim is to foster, preserve and spread the authentic teachings of the Buddha.
The programs that will be conducted at the Nirodha City Centre include guided meditation, Dhamma workshops, Sutta discussions, Dhammapada teachings, Day-Long retreats and yoga sessions.
The Spiritual Director and founder of the Nirodha Trust Dhammaruwan, is an experienced meditation teacher who has trained with Bhante Henepola Gunaratne and Joseph Goldstein in the USA.
At the inauguration ceremony, in a special message Joseph Goldstein reiterated the importance of centers such as the Nirodha City Centre, for providing opportunities for those in the city with busy work schedules to learn meditation in a place close to home. Venerable Wimalajoti welcomed the concept of the City Centre since he felt it would fill an existing void in Dhamma dissemination and learning meditation in Colombo.

The Maha Pirith Potha - Piruwana Pothwahanse was named as Chatubanawara (Satara Banawara) Pali by the Arahnts Sanagha during the Anuradhapura period is part of the sermons by Lord Buddha`s own words.
According to historical records Pirith was written in Ola leaves which includes four sections (Satara Banawara) of sermons. Later it is considered that some sections might have been added from Mahayana sector. However the original four sections of the Pirith Potha/Book which had been prepared with 8 letters in a line to 4 lines in all to be 32 letters of 1000 Gathas/Stanzas. Each section contains 8000 words and a total of 32000 words in the entire Pirith Potha of Satra Banawara.

Our Mission
People living in this world are constantly working hard to get rid of all kinds of mundane sufferings of life. The modern science is always trying to give an answer to this question by introducing new inventions with unending research, but have not come across an ultimate solution. Day by day the problems are getting more complicated. Buddha has found the way to get rid of all sufferings and his teaching on the path to freedom is documented in the tipitaka. But it is not easily understood by the layman just reading the text. Only a good teacher who has practiced the path to freedom successfully and experienced the teachings can explain in a systematic way for novices to understand. Siri Amathagavesi Foundation was established to take you to an experienced teacher. He is Ven. Panditha Waturugama Nanadasiri thero. Nandasiri thero teaches Saddha Seela, Samadhi, Panna sections with meditation through a very pragmatic approach and proven that an ordinary man is able to understand the path to nirvana. Over 12000 laypeople from Sri Lanka and abroad have followed his teachings and have improved their intelligence to understand the life and how to overcome the suffering.
The entire course is divided into the following sections.1. Saddha Bhawana (Devotion meditation)
2. Seela bhavana (Seela Meditation)
3. Samadi bhawana (Samata Meditation)
4. Kayanupassana (Contemplation of Body)
5. Chitanupassana (Contemplation of Thoughts)
6. Panna bhavana (Wisdom Meditation)
There are residential and part time classes organized by the management. The seven day residential course is conducted at Veluwanaramaya temple, Kannimahara, Waturugama (Gampaha District) Sri Lanka. Part time classes are conducted at Waturugama, Gampaha, Ratmalana and Ratnapura. Duration of the course is about 32 hrs, divided into 8 half days and one session a week. No fee is charged for any of these courses and food and lodging is also free for the residential students.
Please note that those who wish to participate for the residential course should have sent their application by post for reservation two months prior to the expected date. The facilities available are limited to twenty five participants at a time.
