We have recently developed a four year cycle of lessons that are shared with the children in years 3-6.

The objectives of our curriculum are to teach students about the values and attitudes consistent with the Buddha's teachings, and to enable the children to learn life skills based on those teachings. We include gentle meditation techniques in a safe environment that are built upon an understanding of why meditation is axial to Buddhist practice.  If you are interested in joining us, please email us and we will reply as quickly as possible.

Notes and Events:

Cittamani Hospice Service provides professional palliative care to people who are dying and their families. We offer compassionate care and honour clients’ individual choices.

We aim to provide the highest quality service from the time of diagnosis through to the bereavement period. Our belief is that this service is best provided in a healthy and supportive community where death, dying and bereavement are openly discussed and accepted.

The promotion of healthy dying requires terminally ill adults and children to have a choice in where and how they spend their remaining life. To support this choice a range of inpatient and community services are required to ensure continuity of care. The availability of knowledgeable networks of community members is vital to the success of this process.

To Cittamani Hospice Service, a hospice is a holistic approach to care rather than a place.

Our service includes:

  • holistic client-centred care
  • hospice-at-home program
  • multidisciplinary teamwork
  • community participation
  • hospital/general practitioner/community services collaboration
  • bereavement support program
  • community and professional education in issues of death and dying

Cittamani Hospice Service exists within a comprehensive and integrated health network and acts as a model for community-based hospice services both within Australia and overseas.

Notes and Events:

The groups that make up the Coast and City Sangha ( Goolwa Dharma Group  and Ashtree Sangha  follow a broad, secular approach.

This approach values what it is that people actually experience, both in meditation and in daily life.  Within the framework of the teachings of the Buddha, this approach gives us a way to explore, and come to understand more about, these experiences and our inner worlds.

We encourage you to approach meditation with gentleness and curiosity, allowing your own unique experience to unfold naturally;  being open to, and cultivating awareness of, the rich variety of experiences that make up our inner lives, and coming to appreciate in a new way even those aspects we may usually view as unacceptable or mundane

Ashtree Sangha meets on the second Sunday of every month from February to December, upstairs at the Hatha Yoga Shala, 172 Hutt Street, Adelaide. Sangha meetings run from 3 to 5pm.

The Goolwa Dharma Group is based at the Middleton Pioneer Hall, Walker Place, Middleton or see map below. We meet fortnightly on a Monday 10.00 to 12.00 noon.
