Lions Roar Dharma Center is a Buddhist practice center in Sacramento, California, USA. We practice the way of Shakyamuni Buddha as passed down through the great synthesizer of Tibetan Buddhism, Lama Tsongkapa, up to the present Dalai Lama. We follow in the lineage of Serajey Monastic University in India.
The core of Buddhist meditation training is based on yoga techniques taught by Shakyamuni Buddha and successive teachers. These techniques include sitting meditation, used to develop calm, awareness, and finally insight, as well as walking meditation. Imaginal practice is also used to creatively work with aspects of our own self nature through imagining Buddhas such as Tara, Chenresig or Vajrasattva. Discussions and Dharma talks help integrate these techniques into our daily life. Please visit our website for meeting times.
